Day 1: Arrival – 10 km

Arrival in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan capital. You will be met by our representatives and accommodated at Grand Turkmen Hotel.

Day 2: Ashgabat – Nissa – Ruhy Mosque – Ashgabat – 35km

Breakfast at the hotel. We will begin our tour in Ashgabat. During this tour you will visit Ruhyyet Palace, Wedding Palace, modern “Yildyz” Hotel, Ferries Wheel, Constitution Monument, Arch of Neutrality, Monument and park of Independence, Artogrul Gazy Mosque and other sights. Then drive to visit Nissa fortress – the Sanctuary of Parthian Kings. UNESCO declared fortress a World Heritage Site in 2007. Drive to visit the biggest Mosque in Central Asia Ruhy Mosque. Overnight at Grand Turkmen Hotel.

Day 3: Ashgabat – Mary – Ashgabat – 45 min flight

Morning flight to Mary. Drive to Bairamali city (35 km from Mary city) to explore the archaeological and historical jewels of the ancient Silk Road City. Visit ancient Merv – “Queen of the world”, one of the most important capitals of Islam along with Baghdad, Cairo and Damascus. Sightseeing of ancient Merv includes: Gyz Gala & Oglan Gala (VI-VII), Complex of Askhabs (VIII-XIV), Gyaur Gala (IV BC), Buddhist Complex (IV-VI), Beni Makhan Mosque – first Mosque build in Central Asia. Drive back to Mary, transfer to the airport for flight to Ashgabat. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel and overnight at Grand Turkmen hotel.

Day 4: Ashgabad – Gas Crater – 270 km (Saturday, Sunday)

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to visit “Altyn Asyr” Oriental Bazar – Jygyldyk, located in 20km to the north of Ashgabat. It is one of the largest open bazaars in the world filled with colourful rugs, jewellery, carpets, silk and national Turkmen costumes and animals in other part. Lunch at Talkuchka bazaar. Drive to Gas Crater (268km) dubbed by locals as “The Door to Hell”. The Derweze area is rich in natural gas. Dinner at Gas Crater. Overnight in a camp.

Day 5: Gas Crater – Village in Garagum desert – Ashgabat – 270km

Picnic-style breakfast. Drive back to Ashgabat through Garagum desert. The Garakum is a sand desert stretching for 350,000 km2 from the Caspian Sea to Pamir foothills and from Amu Darya to Kopet Dag ridge. Its name is translated as “black sands” (“kara” – black, “kum” – sand). Rest in village on the way. Visit Turkmen national yurt, taste national food like “Gowurdak” and drink camel milk “Chal”. Camel-riding. Continue our way to Ashgabat. Check in to the hotel. Free time. Overnight at Grand Turkmen Hotel.

Day 6: Ashgabat – Gokdepe horse farm and fortress – Ashgabat – 45km

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Gokdepe fortress and horse farm. Gokdepe fortress was attacked in December 1880 by Russians under General Mikhail Skobelev. The siege of Gokdepe lasted twenty-three days, after which the city was taken by storm. Gokdepe Mosque was built to commemorate the defeat and is noted for its mint-turquoise blue colored roof and white marble structure. At the horse farm you can see proud of Turkmens – Akhalteke horses. 5000 years ago Turkmens began to breed Akhalteke horses. Different rulers as Alexander the Great, Darius I wanted to own these horses. Drive back. Overnight at Grand Turkmen Hotel.

Day 7: Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Farewell with tourists and transfer to the International airport of Ashgabat for flight to home.
